In our mission to support business development, we created this section to assist businesses in lowering the risk of crime, providing a stronger and safer business environment for customers and employees, alike, as well as increasing the attractiveness of Downtown and neighboring business communities.
The documents below are provided by the Yakima Police Department. They are in accordance with Best Practices concerning Crime Prevention and Workplace Safety.
Note: There is a trespass letter at the bottom of the document list. This letter, when on file, allows police officers to remove an unwanted individual from the business location without requiring the business owner to be present.
Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design – or CPTED, is the proper design, maintenance, and use of the built environment in order to enhance the quality of life and to reduce both the incidence and the fear of crime.
DAY Team Members are certified in CPTED. If you are interested in a one-on-one consultation or attending a CPTED training facilitated by DAY Team members, contact us at email@example.com.
