What We Do

The Downtown Association of Yakima was formed in 2015 and is a certified member of  Washington Main Street Program and has been  Nationally Accredited  by Main Street America since 2016.

The Downtown Association of Yakima is a non-profit dedicated to the revitalization of the downtown community. We achieve this through a multi-pronged approach that focuses on marketing and events, supportive programs, and acting as a resource for the downtown community. Events range from large, one-day beverage and music festivals to in-business promotions. Programs include the Façade Improvement Grant Program and Maintenance and Beautification, and our four working committees: Organization, Design, Economic Vitality, and Promotions, which all strive to foster revitalization. Acting as a resource can manifest itself in many ways, such as being a liaison between businesses and government, providing a voice for the community, or finding a resource for a stakeholder. Our social media platforms, website, e-newsletter, and monthly Breakfast Meetings serve as communication avenues for providing vital information to the downtown community. We also manage the Downtown Yakima Farmers Market.

Mission Statement

DAY is a private, nonprofit organization committed to the preservation, development, marketing and promotion of Downtown Yakima through focused efforts to build and maintain public and private partnerships that will foster financial and creative investments in our future while embracing and celebrating our history.
