returning for its 5th year,
bigger and better than ever!
The 5th annual Rainbow Prom will be held on Saturday, May 27th, 2023 from 6 pm-10
pm at the Le Château Ballroom in Downtown Yakima. There will be all kinds of activities
and entertainment designed for LGBTQ+ youth! The event will have great music, food
and beverage, drag performances, a royal contest for the 2023 Rainbow Prom Crown,
and more! Everyone ages 14-20 are welcome!
For many teens, the prom is the epitome of their high school experience. But for
students who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer, it can be a challenge to
feel like they belong. Yakima Pride decided to start a new annual tradition called "The
Rainbow Prom," where attending LGBTQ+ youth are welcome and safe to be fully
themselves.
