Mark Pickerel would never say so, but he’s kind of a big deal. The guy played drums for the Screaming Trees, for crying out loud. In fact drop everything right now and listen to Uncle Anesthesia, and you’ll understand how a bunch of outcasts from Ellensburg forced their way into the conversation about best bands of the 90s. Oh and there was his super-group phase, playing with Hiro Yamamoto of Soundgarden in the cult-fave band Truly. Some stints he can tell you about over a beer with a fellow named Kurt Cobain. With the Dusty 45s, Mark and his buddy Billy Joe Huels barnstormed through live music venues like some fevered rockabilly dream. Oh and then his friends like Neko Case, Brandi Carlile and The Secret Sisters will dial him up for the odd collaboration. So yeah, kind of an impressive resume.
