Margaret France's Book Party @ Collab

SATURDAY the 14th, 4-6pm is a first for Collab- a book release party! Join us to celebrate a hometown favorite, Margaret France. Born and raised in Yakima, Margaret returned in 2019 taking a job in the English department at YVC. Here’s a bit about the book, “The Genius of Bob’s Burgers: Comedy, Culture and Onion-Tended Consequences”: “This book-length critical study of “Bob’s Burgers” examines the moments in which the animated sitcom exposes the chasms between generations, explores gender and sexual identity, and allows fans to imagine a better world. Essays cover how the show can be read as a series of critiques of Steven Spielberg’s early blockbusters, a rejection of Freudian psychology, or an examination of the artificiality of gendered behaviors through the cross-casting of characters like Tina and Linda.” The book is excellent, y’all. A fun and funny read for any fan of Bob’s Burger. Bring your copy to have signed or buy one at the event.

4th Anniversary Party @ Single Hill Brewing

Single Hill is turning Four, and for the first time since the first time, we're having an Anniversary Party!

Join us on May 14th between 12:00 noon and 8:00 PM for music, beer, food, face painting, and more! Admission is free so come by whenever feels right.

We've got three bands for the big day:

Nick Foster, a songwriter from Seattle, WA, whose compelling folk and country songwriting style is flavored with alternative country and rock.

Dimestore Prophets, a three piece groove/rock/reggae band that is based in central Washington. DSP brings “Feel Good Music”to the Pacific Northwest playing extensively since 2010.

The Warren G. Hardings, a dance stringband whose modern bluegrass jams will keep you on your feet dancing until their last note.

We also have two beers releasing in honor of our anniversary:

Garden Grove, a wild sour ale with local apricots.

Energy Cone (Anniversary Edition), our award winning fresh hop beer re-made with the finished production lots that we used to make the fresh version.

James & Kayla (@starlightdance509) will be teaching a lesson on Rueda de Casino (a super-fun Cuban salsa circle dance), that starts at 10pm.

🪩 Social dancing follows the lesson, with the hottest salsa, bachata, and Latin music for dancing, played by DJ David Blancas (Bachata & Salsa Social Club).
