Craft Beverages, local food vendors, and classic rock will grab the spotlight at the 5th Annual Yakima Uncorked Wine and Food Festival taking place on June 29 at Millennium Plaza in the heart of Downtown Yakima. The festival was created five years ago to feature the area’s premier craft beverages and has quickly become a signature, mid-summer party for the Yakima community.
A full block of S. 3rd Street will be closed off to serve as an epicenter for fun and good times. Sixteen area beverage vendors, ranging from wineries to breweries to distilleries, will pour their tastiest creations, making it a must-attend event for craft beverage lovers.
Live music has always been a huge part of Uncorked. This year’s headliner, Heart By Heart (which includes two members of the original mega 70’s rock band) is back by popular demand. The group rocked the Uncorked Stage in the event’s inaugural year in 2015. The musical lineup also includes Perfect by Tomorrow, a foursome based out of Bellingham, Washington who blends a variety of genres, and WiseBlood (high end vinyl) a group of local seasoned musicians who are committed to LIVE music & rock n’ roll.
In addition to enjoying a variety of craft beverages, there will also be a wide offering of delicious foods from local and regional food vendors. And this year, newly added, there will be a cigar tent.
Set in historic Downtown Yakima in the shadows of the grand Capitol Theatre, Yakima Uncorked provides a charming setting for this mid-summer party. There will be chairs for listening to the bands and an eating area.
Yakima Uncorked runs from 5 – 10 pm. Entry to the event will be on Yakima Avenue. Tickets are $20 at the event; $15 pre-event online at Yakimauncorked.com. This is a 21-plus event. ID will be required.
The presenting sponsor for Yakima Uncorked is Washington Broadband. The Downtown Association of Yakima will be managing the beverage area and proceeds from beverage sales will go towards downtown revitalization efforts.
