Three Sisters Metaphysical Arts is a dazzling and yet comfortable shop nestled in Downtown Yakima at 106 South Second Street. The shop is owned by Kat who gets great assistance from Grace. They have great passion for what they do and love being in Downtown Yakima!
Three Sisters opened in August 2018 and moved to its current location in July 2019. This was a new venture for Kat who had never worked retail prior to opening her business, yet her affinity for her work is clear. “I meet people from all different cultures, religions, and backgrounds and I want to hear those stories,” says Kat. “I love seeing people buy stuff I love.” Grace says, “It’s great to go to work every day and have great conversations with people who are interested in the same thing.”
Locating her business in Downtown Yakima was a clear choice for Kat. She was waiting for the place that felt right, and she found that downtown. “Downtown Yakima has a very interesting and eclectic culture. There is so much variety in the people I meet every day and I love that. There’s always something going on, and there’s never a dull moment.”
Three Sisters Metaphysical Arts caters to a community from as far as Tri-Cities and Ellensburg as well as, here, in Yakima. They stock tumbled and raw stones and crystals, candles, incense, tarot cards, soap, essential oils, locally handmade jewelry, crystal singing bowls, crystal balls and specimens, statuary, ritual supplies, and a lot more. Serving this community has been a joy for Kat and Grace. “There are no experts; even those who have been doing this for 20+ years still have to learn. I learn from everyone who walks in,” say Kat. She also notes that “metaphysical arts” is a hugely broad category. “There are some lovely shops that cater to the spiritually minded and the metaphysical community, [and] we complement each other very well. If there’s something I don’t have, The Soul Seeker or Bri-Cho Coffee Bar and Spa probably has it. If you’re looking for something specific, we will tell you the closest place you can find it.“
Getting to know Kat & Grace
What are your hobbies outside of your business?
Kat - Movie nights with the family, reading, painting, road trips. I love going anywhere - I love to see new places.
Grace - Rescuing cats without homes. I have 5 cats of my own and work with a local cat rescue group.
What is your Favorite Movie?
Kat - Classic movie? Practical Magic. New release? Nobody
Grace - Moulin Rouge or Romeo + Juliet
What is your Favorite TV Show?
Kat - Agents of SHIELD & Archer
Grace - My all-time favorite is Scrubs. Also, The Walking Dead (specifically seasons 1-5)
Favorite Music Artist?
Kat - Julia Michaels, NOFX, Jaya the Cat, Vance Joy. Also anything to do with Christmas.
Grace - Lady GAGA & Childish Gambino
What is your favorite food?
Kat - I’ll eat pretty much anything but we have such a great selection of Mexican restaurants and food trucks in Yakima and I love them all.
Grace - Sushi! My favorite place closed recently, but Ozekis is a great option.
