Every summer Yakima Avenue shuts down and runners flood down towards the finish line. The Yakima Mile is open to people of all ages and abilities, so whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting out, you are welcome and encouraged to participate. The Yakima Mile is composed of 11 heats for everyone, including kids, elite athletes, dogs, families, competitive and noncompetitive alike. The Yakima Mile brings together the Yakima Valley and beyond in support of YWCA Yakima, the beneficiary of the Yakima Mile.
