April 5, 2018 – (Yakima, WA) The Downtown Association of Yakima (DAY) is excited to announce the hiring of Yvette Lippert as the first manager of the new Downtown Yakima Farmers’ Market. Lippert brings a strong agriculture and farmers’ market background to the position.
“We are very thrilled to have Yvette on board, “says DAY Executive Director, Andrew Holt. “We know she will hit the ground running and will bring great energy, creativity, and organizational skills to the market.”
Lippert was chosen after going through two rounds of interviews, the first round involving four candidates, and begins immediately as the market season is just around the corner. The owner of a Bachelor of Science in Dairy Science with a minor in Ag Business from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Lippert has over ten years of fair, farmers’ market and special event coordination experience. She has held the position of Farmers’ Market Sales Associate for Essencia Artisan Bakery since 2012, worked for the Central Washington State Fair from 2008 – 2010, and also performed fair work for the Sonoma-Marin and Lake County Fairs.
Her special event work also includes serving as current Vendor Chair for Fresh Hop Ale Festival. Lippert is also involved with the Washington State Dairy Women and has been a member of Junior League since 2009.
Some of the early tasks for Lippert and the new Downtown Yakima Farmers’ Market will be reaching out to vendors – new and old –, setting up a fee schedule, developing a dynamic website, a Facebook page, and developing a sponsor package, to name just a few.

Yvette shares our board’s vision of making this a dynamic market and providing the type of website and overall communication that enhances the experience for the vendor and the community member.”
