Lunch Time Live is BACK

lunch time live poster Lunch Time Live free concert series in Performance Park is back.  Starting on Friday, May 6th enjoy six weeks of music every Friday on your lunch hour from 11:45 AM to 1:15 PM.  Local food purveyors will be on site at each of the shows selling delicious local grub for your convenience  or grab something to go from one of the many nearby downtown restaurants.

Jacob Navarro is the first performer of the season.  A local Washingtonian, Navarro is a leader “on mandolin/acoustic guitar that strongly recalls The Bad Livers…..with fierce picking that recalls Tim O’Brien in his youth and a voice that just might unleash hellfire one day….” – Dennis Cook, Dirty Impound.  Joining Navarro is Flying Pig BBQ which recently opened up on Historic North Front Street and specializes in all things BBQ.

Local favorites Shoot Jake will be playing on Friday, May 13th so don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes.  The band is currently working on a full length recording that should be released sometime in early 2016.  Hop Town Wood Fired Pizza will be on site for this show cooking up delicious wood fired pizza for your taste buds.

Fronted by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Travis Ward, Hillfolk Noir is a trio of neo-traditionalists playing traditional music on traditional instruments for non-traditional times. They call it Junkerdash, and it’s a sound brewed from folk, bluegrass, punk, string-band blues and other influences musical and otherwise. They take to the park on Friday, May 20th.  Crafted Gastropub and Catering will be selling delectable lunch items to satiate your pallet.

Seattle favorite, Ruler will get you grooving on the 27th of May.  Ruler is a mix of folk roots from the ground, trading it for rushing drums, resonating guitar, and melody that unashamedly hooks and pulls.  You’ll be tapping your toe while you bob your head in between bites of Flying Pig BBQ.

Nearing the end of our series, Hill Dogs will perform on Friday, June 3rd.   The band is full of big-hearted, fire-breathing folk rockers. Rich, honest lyrics, soaked in beautiful harmonies are kept afloat by gritty grooves. The group hails from Oregon.  Grab a slice a pie from Hop Town Wood Fired Pizza and lay back on your blanket while you watch the clouds float by and hum along to Hill Dogs pretty tunes.

Audre Belt is an aspiring country singer from Washington State who will be closing out the Season on Friday, June 10th. She has opened for bigger country names like James Otto and Brian McCommas, and has won 1st place in over 5 competitions, including winning 1st place in the female category of an X-Factor competition in Kennewick, Wa.  Crafted Gastropub and Catering will have your lunch at the ready.
